Last week, three state lawmakers put forward a bipartisan package of police reform bills. The package would, among other things, overhaul the state’s use of force reporting procedures and institute a new level of community control over the Madison and Milwaukee Police and Fire Commissions.
For more on the recommendations, WORT Producer Jonah Chester spoke with Democratic Senator Lena Taylor, of Milwaukee. Taylor is one of three co-sponsors and drafters of the bills, alongside Republican Senators Alberta Darling, of River Hills, and Van Wanggaard, of Racine.
