It might be hard to tell, but the annual enrollment period to sign up for a healthcare plan under the federal Affordable Care Act is occurring right now. After Congress failed to repeal the Affordable Care Act in two successive tries in 2017, the Trump administration unilaterally cancelled contracts, gutted funding and slashed public outreach budgets designed to assist the public with getting health insurance under the law. But the law is still in effect, and the website healthcare.gov is still accepting applications for health insurance.
