Beginning with three selections from “What’s Goin’ On” by Motown legend Marvin Gaye, followed by the most recent release from renowned double bassist Christian McBride “The Movement Revisited: A Musical Portrait of Four (Five) Icons” which provides a sonic portrait of the Civil Rights Movement. Up next are two selections from double bassist Avery Sharpe from 400: An African American Musical Portrait followed by the Billie Holiday classic “Strange Fruit”.
