On Monday April 7th, our host John Quinlan’s guest was Florence Reed, exec. director of Sustainable Harvest International. Its mission, according to their website, is to provide farming families in Central America with training and tools to preserve tropical forests while overcoming poverty. Reed will be visiting Madison the following week, including a presentation at Edgewood College’s Predolin Hall on Tuesday, April 15th at 7pm; reception to follow. John Peck, exec. director of Family Farm Defenders, joined us later in the show for a local perspective on sustainability.
