A new fund helps support the work of women artists. Friday Buzz host Jonathan Zarov sat down with the fund’s creators, Brenda Baker and Bird Ross, to learn about the state of art in Wisconsin.
In her career, Madison artist Bird Ross has created very tiny, portable theaters in a wheelbarrow and full-size theatrical sets. She’s made doorstoops, clotheslines with laundry, alphabet blocks, book origami, handbags, and sidewalk mural PSAs to get voters to the polls. She’ll be mending your broken stuff at the Madison Public Library.
Bird Ross discusses her role as Artist in Residence at the Madison Public Library Bubbler and talks with Buzz host Brian Standing about the mending and fixing of all manner of things.
