(WORT) –A pair of bills at the Wisconsin Capitol brought thousands of protesters to the streets Thursday. Demonstrators participating in the Day Without Latinos Rally say pending legislation banning local governments from issuing photo IDs and cracking down on so-called sanctuary cities are anti-Latino and anti-immigrant.
The first month of the Trump Administration has brought pledges to deport undocumented immigrants and start construction of a border wall. State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa, of Milwaukee’s 8th District, joins Tony to talk about actions from the White House, the recent Day Without Latinos demonstration, and a court case involving Sheriff David Clarke.
