Earlier this year, Wednesday host Ali Muldrow defeated former Dane County Board supervisor David Blaska in the general election for seat 4 on the Madison school board. On today’s episode, Ali and Dave meet in the studio for a frank discussion of their political differences, covering topics like race, gender, sexual violence, abortion, and gerrymandering, along with the unique challenges of serving in local government and what it really means to be conservative or liberal.
David Blaska is a conservative blogger and former elected official who served six terms on the Dane County Board of Supervisors from 1994 to 2006. Before that, he served as acting press secretary for Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson in 1998 and spent twelve years as a reporter and editor for The Capital Times. A self-described “recovering liberal,” he now identifies as a staunch Republican and reluctant Trump supporter.
