“When a women tells her story she leaves a legacy. When a woman writes her story she leaves footprints on the planet for others girls to follow.” – Dayanara Marte
Lilada said writing her memoir, I Can’t Live Like This Anymore! about her survival of childhood sexual abuse was one of the most difficult things she has ever accomplished, which included periods of tremendous anxiety, depression, doubt, sadness and fear. But at the end of her journey of writing, she found strength, fortitude and healing.
Today’s guests have also written their stories of sexual assault: Casandra Austin (Unclothed: Memoir of a Naked Soul), Elona Washington (Ivy League to Stripper Life: 10 Lessons Learned), and Dayanara Marte (Every Little Girl Has a Story).
