The very bumpy road toward the creation of a Dane County homeless day center hit a few more potholes a couple of weeks ago. Only one vendor, the fledgling nonprofit Stepping Stones, responded to the County’s request for proposals to operate the center — and came in a third over budget. The county board rejected the sole proposal, and now it’s back to square one for the troubled facility. Dane County District 2 Supervisor Heidi Wegleitner has led the charge to create the Day Center. Brian Standing spoke with Heidi about the difficult path on the Monday 8 O’Clock Buzz.
