Justin Akers Chacón is an activist, labor unionist, and educator living in the San Diego-Tijuana border region. He is a professor of Chicana/o History at San Diego City College and the author of No One is Illegal: Fighting Racism and State Violence on the U.S.-Mexico Border with co-author Mike Davis (Haymarket, 2006), Radicals in the Barrio: Magonistas, Socialists, Wobblies, and Communists in the Mexican-American Working Class (Haymarket, 2018), and most recently The Border Crossed Us: The Case for Opening the US-Mexico Border (Haymarket, 2021).
