Earlier this month, three different Madison Police Officers were arrested across the state in just two weeks.
Channel 3’s lead investigative reporter Naomi Kowles went about her job of reporting on the incidents, only to run into roadblocks trying to find even the most basic information on the arrests.
WORT Producer Nate Wegehaupt spoke with Kowles about why she reports on crimes potentially committed by public officials while avoiding those accused of everyday folks. They also discussed the ethics of reporting on crime, and Knowles’ struggles in reporting on the incidents.
Naomi Kowles is the lead investigative reporter with Channel 3000 in Madison.
