Trump will be out of office in a week, but the phenomenon of “Trumpism” is likely not going away anytime soon. How do we understand what occurred in DC last week and what does it suggest about where we might be headed?
For today’s show, we invite back social and cultural critic Henry Giroux to discuss these questions about Trumpism and its afterlife.
Henry Giroux is a professor in the English and cultural studies department at McMaster University. His research focuses on critical pedagogy, education, neoliberalism, and the current state of society and culture.
Giroux is the author of many books, most recently American’s Addiction to Terrorism (Monthly Review Press, 2016), America at War with Itself (City Lights, 2017), American Nightmare: Facing the Challenge of Fascism (City Lights, 2018), and The Terror of the Unforeseen (Los Angeles Review of Books, 2019). He writes columns for Truthout and TruthDig.com.
