It’s the most wonderful time of the year—time for Carousel’s annual happy show, where she looks back on the year and highlights positive news from the community.
Today, we learn about local refugee resettlement, the successes of the Dane County government in criminal justice and mental health initiatives, the Bookstores Against Borders Fundraiser for RAICES that started in Madison, the DNR’s work on making 2019 the year of clean drinking water, and the inspiring leadership of the Black Student Union at La Follette High School.
Our guests for the hour are: Becca Schwartz, Refugee Resettlement Director with Jewish Social Services; Sharon Corrigan, Chair of the Dane County Board of Supervisors; Gretchen Treu, co-owner of A Room of One’s Own independent bookstore; Todd Ambs, Assistant Deputy Secretary for Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; and Johnnie Milton Jr., Minority Services Coordinator at La Follette High School.
