Host Allen Ruff takes a look at the importance and resurgence of radical and socialist Eugene V. Debs, who led the Socialist Party to federal and state office across the United States by the 1920. He is joined by Paul Buhle and David Nance, co-authors of a graphic biography on the labor leader published by Verso Press. This program is a preview of a book talk event that will happen tonight, March 21st, at a Room of One’s Own at 6pm.
Paul Buhle is founder of the journal Radical America and the archive Oral History of the American Left. He is co-editor of the Encyclopedia of the American Left and the author or editor of dozens of books, including A People’s History of American Empire (Metropolitan Books, 2008) and the newly-released 50th anniversary edition of Radical America Komiks (PM Press, 2019).
