Tyson Purcell and Cynthia Marie host this program with Jake Snell on the local comedy scene to help build awareness and support.
The local Madison comedy scene is always growing and putting on independent shows. There are a number of shows that are unique to our area and need the support of those in Madison that want to support local arts.
In this hour, local show runners talk and get excited about what got these them into comedy and what to expect in the months to come. Venues at a variety of levels are available, including Comedy on State, one of the premier comedy clubs in the country, but also indie stages and open mike sessions around town. These three folks will tell you what it’s like to get started and will try to inspire you to try yourself.
More information can be found at localmadisoncomedy.com, with calendars and artists and events. There are also Facebook pages identified during the program, and there’s Madison Comedy Week happening from June 16th through June 23rd.
