Just how big of a role does United States play in global capitalism?
On Thursday December 12th, our host Allen Ruff was joined by labor-left activist and public intellectual Sam Gindin to discuss his new book he co-authored with Leo Panitch, “The Making of Global Capitalism“. Over the course of the show, Ruff and Gindin discussed themes from the book and the groundbreaking account of America’s role in global capitalism.
“In this groundbreaking work, Leo Panitch and Sam Gindin demonstrate the intimate relationship between modern capitalism and the American state. The Making of Global Capitalism identifies the centrality of the social conflicts that occur within states rather than between them. These emerging fault lines hold out the possibility of new political movements that might transcend global markets.”- Verso Books
