Anatole Beck was a well known figure in Madison’s progressive community and for many years recorded weekly political and social commentaries for WORT’s “Insurgent Radio Kiosk” – Many of those can be found archived here: http://abeckcomment.blogspot.com/.
Beck was also a renowned professor emeritus of mathematics at the University of Wisconsin and an author on numerous topics related to politics and education.
For many years Anatole Beck would spend part of his time in residence at the London School of Economics, but even there, he was able to use computer technology to record his commentaries for the Kiosk from, as he would say “across the pond”. His voice will be missed in Madison and beyond.
