January 22nd is the anniversary of the day a group of African American workers at the Eldon Chrysler plant in Detroit walked off the job and marched on their union, the United Autoworkers Workers (UAW) with a list of grievances. The next day they called a wildcat strike, keeping out two thirds of the workforce. The year was 1969.
