UW History Professor Rudy Koshar joins Carousel today to talk about the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party and how it compares to the U.S. today. Are we overreacting to think it’s the same? Or are we underreacting to how bad things are?
Rudy Koshar is the George L. Mosse / Wisconsin Alumni Research Professor of History, German & Religious Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His researched has covered the social roots of Nazism; the lower middle classes in European politics between the world wars; historic preservation and German national identity; German memory cultures; the history of consumption, modern travel and leisure; and twentieth-century European religious thought and political theology.
