In this episode, Patty explores the intersection between environmental justice and public health. She is joined in the studio by Monica Vohmann, a practicing family medicine physician and member of Physicians for Social Responsibility, and Jimmy Para, staff attorney at Midwest Environmental Advocates. They discuss the importance of storytelling in helping people to see and understand the connections between environment and health, including the effects of pollution, inadequate housing, climate change, water contamination, and social determinants of health.
This Wisconsin Environmental Health Network’s Story Project has a kick-off event on Wednesday, October 24, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the atrium in the Health Sciences Learning Center on the UW–Madison campus. More information is available here.
