“There is a particular attraction in the MAGA block to the most right wing governments around the world: Trump, Netanyahu, Modi in India, Duterte and now Marcos in the Philippines, and Putin, who [has] become a hero of the right as this defender of white Christian civilization, homophobia, anti gay, all that kind of thing. The Biden administration is no friend of ours on this, and one of the reasons they’re opposed to the MAGA block is that they don’t think it’s an effective strategy for long term US hegemony.
So we have a very tough situation on our hands, in terms of combating the rise of fascism in the United States, and rebuilding the kind of peace and international solidarity movement that can contend with the forces who are against the MAGA block, but who still are for US hegemony and intervention around the world.”
