All politics are theater. The goal of rallies, debates and campaign ads is less a nuanced discussion of public policy, and more a frenzied attempt at grabbing voters’ attention.
Tonight, Joe Biden will square off against Donald Trump in the first presidential debate of the general election. But this particular case of political theater is more likely to resemble a WWE match than Shakespeare in the Park.
