Last week, former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice Michael Gableman sent an email to elections officials across the state telling them to preserve data from the November 2020 election. Gableman is currently leading one of two investigations into the presidential election.
The email, which was sent from the personal Gmail account of one ‘John Delta,’ was flagged by many election officials — including the Dane County Clerk — as spam and disregarded.
Wisconsin’s dueling election investigations — one led by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and one by state Representative Janel Brandtjen of Menomonee Falls — have resulted in confusing, and legally dubious, requests of clerks across the state.
