Today in 1991: The day after the start of the U.S. bombing of Iraq, ten peace activists are arrested at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, for handing out written warnings to military reservists about participation in war crimes.
Long-time peace activist Sam Day was sentenced to four months for his participation.

This weekend is Love and Trauma – an original play about a woman who kills her husband after years of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Written by local playwright Nick Schweitzer, the production is intended to promote awareness of the often misunderstood and oversimplified issue of domestic abuse. Performances are this weekend at the Bartell Theater, with evening performances at 7:30 on Friday and Saturday and matinees at 2:30 on Saturday and Sunday. There is a cost for this event.
