Today in 1983: Women tag a U.S. warplane with anti-nuclear graffiti at Greenham Common, an air base in England.
The Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp had been set up just outside the perimeter of the base in 1981 to get U.S. Cruise missiles, some of which were deployed at the base, out of their country.

This weekend, Broom Street theater performs “Elect More Variety Shows!,” featuring short satirical political plays, poems, and songs that together create a celebratory skewering of culture in Madison and the rest of the world. There is a suggested donation at the door, and part of proceeds will be donated to the Workers’ Rights Center and the Tenant Resource Center. Tonight’s “Walk with a Doc” topic is “Stress Reduction – Practicing a Life of Balance” with Dr. Dawn Ley. Tonight it’s Yoga with a Doc!
