This weekend is the Lake Monona Water Walk! Grassroots, local, regional, state and tribal leaders gather to offer an opportunity for the community to come together in an effort to raise awareness for the global water crises and protection of the local watershed. The events take place Friday through Sunday evening. For a schedule and more information, visit LakeMononaWaterWalk.org.
This Saturday night is a Community Firefly Hike at Indian Lake County Park. Join Get Kids Outside on an easy hike and then cook some marshmallows and make a firefly craft while we wait for the show. Why do they blink? What makes them glow? Bring water, bug dope, a flashlight and a clear container for catching bugs. There is a cost for this event, with all proceeds used to provide more outdoor opportunities for kids. Tickets are available at https://fireflyhike.eventbrite.com. This is Saturday at Indian Lake County Park, 8183 Highway 19 in Cross Plains, from 7:30 to 10pm. For more info, email email@example.com.
