This weekend, the New Glarus Youth Committee will host the 10th Annual New Glarus Music Fest at New Glarus Village Park. Enjoy music, food and beverages. The event will be family-friendly with inflatable rides and other activities for kids and the young at heart. Proceeds go to the New Glarus Youth Committee, a non-profit organization working to promote and facilitate area youth. Tomorrow is the 5th-annual DrumPower Africa Night, featuring 200 DrumPower students from Madison schools in grades 3 to 8. DrumPower is a youth leadership program that teaches young people West African Traditional, Afro-Cuban, and Afro-Brazilian drumming, as well as the cultural and historical significance, in order to build self-esteem and self-confidence through musical heritage, discipline, teamwork, creativity, responsibility, and self-respect. There is a suggested donation, with funds raised going to support scholarships to the summer DrumPower Drum & Dance Camp. This is Friday at 6pm at Mills Concert Hall, 455 North Park Street.
