Tonight is “Land Use, Climate Change and Yahara Lakes Flooding,” a talk with Kenneth Potter, Chair of the Water Resources Management program and Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UW-Madison. This lecture will explore whether Dane County’s stormwater ordinance is sufficient to prevent increases in lake flooding due to land development and climate change. It will also examine possible measures to better control runoff in many county developments, and to fund compensatory practices, including restoration of formerly “closed” wetlands in the watershed. This free event is at 7pm at UW-Madison, Union South – Varsity Hall, 1308 West Dayton. More info at nelson.wisc.edu.
