Since 1986, the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing has offered 9-month fellowships to up and coming writers, with the goal of helping them complete a first or second book. Poet Tiana Clark was born in California, then moved to Nashville at the age of 7, where she discovered the poetry scene.
Since then, she received a Master of Fine Arts from Vanderbilt University, where she won the 2016 Academy of American Poets Vanderbilt University Prize, and has had poems published in the New Yorker. Recently, she came to Madison as a 2017-2018 Jay C. and Ruth Halls Poetry Fellow.
