Recent election reforms are aimed at giving greater partisan control over election administration, according to Derek Tisler, counsel in the Brennan Center for Justice’s Democracy Program.
In his most recent co-authored article entitled “The Election Sabotage Scheme and How Congress Can Stop It“, Tisler talks about states’ legislatures efforts to focus on what happens after the vote gets cast (like what information third party election “recounts” can access), establishing state authority to dismiss election results, and more.
He points out how the pending Congressional “Freedom to Vote Act” can provide guidance for free and fair elections.
