Friday evening, September 2, 2016, from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am (Central Time Zone), D.J. el Serpentine and “The Rattlesnake Shake” program present a special tribute show to the late legendary guitarist Tommy Bolin, and Bolin’s final recorded release from September 1976, the critically acclaimed and certified gold album “Private Eyes”!
This 3 hour special will feature interview segments produced especially for this program, featuring keyboardist Mark Stein (Vanilla Fudge) and drummer Bobby Berge (Zephyr, Buddy Miles Band) who are both on the “Private Eyes” album. Archival interview sections with Tommy Bolin himself will augment this exposé about this classic record.
Expect music not only from “Private Eyes” but also demo recordings of the songs from that release, outtakes, works in progress, extended jams, and live material from the Tommy Bolin Band’s Fall 1976 tour. Included will be recordings from the concert Tommy Bolin played on the last night of his life, opening for Jeff Beck, December 3, 1976, in Miami, Florida.
Please tune in on September 2nd! WORT-FM can be streamed live in HD through WORT’s website via the “Listen Live” link on our home page. Also, the program will be archived for replay (for a 2 week period) after the show airs, by visiting the WORT website’s Audio Archive section, and playing the links for Sept 2 (11:00 – midnight “Below The Radar”) and Sept 3 (midnight to 2:00 am “Rob’s Music Shop”). ENJOY, and come taste the man one more time!
