This afternoon is “Free the 350 Action!” Groundwork, in collaboration with Young, Gifted and Black, will hold this action to highlight the vast racial disparities in the Dane County criminal system. From police contact, to arrests, to referrals, to sentencing, to incarceration – state violence oppresses people of color and particularly Black people, while simultaneously privileging white people. This is today at 3:50pm at the City County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. For more info, search on Facebook for “Free the 350 Action.”
Yoga in the park continues for the 4th year at Olin Park Pavilion. The Friends of Olin Turville, in partnership with Madison Parks and Madison Police Department, offer free yoga classes lead by Samantha Kellogg. Classes are open to all levels, focusing on yoga fundamentals, breathing, and asana postures. Bring your own mat, if you have one. Mats and props will be available. This is today from 5:30 to 6:30pm at 1156 Olin-Turville Court. More info at cityofmadison.com.
