Tonight, Reverend Jerry Hancock will lead a forum on solitary confinement, including speakers with solitary cell experience. Reverend Hancock is the former head of law enforcement services in the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and current Director of the Prison Ministry Project. Attendees will have the chance to see a full-size solitary cell replica. The forum is at 7pm at the First Unitarian Society of Madison, 900 University Bay Drive. Tonight, Curbside Splendor presents readings from Cyn Kelly and Dash Vargas. Curbside Splendor is an independent press based in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, and recently published a short fiction collection by Cyn Vargas entitled “On the Way” and Dasha Kelly’s debut novel “Almost Crimson.” This free event is from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Rainbow Bookstore, 426 West Gilman.
