Earlier today, a Des Moines jury acquitted Andrea Sahouri of charges of failure to disperse and interference with official acts. Sahouri, a reporter with the Des Moines Register, was arrested by police while she was reporting on protests against racism and police brutality last May.
But, she wasn’t alone. Last year saw a dramatic spike in the amount of American reporters arrested while on the job.
