An encampment in Reindahl Park, who’s unhoused people have been living in tents for some time, is left with uncertainty as the city and advocates struggle to find both and equitable and a safe solution for the group.
Brenda Konkel, executive director of MACH(Madison Area Care for the Homeless) OneHealth in Madison. The group’s mission is to bridge gaps in the local healthcare system for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
Brenda and Jessie Brown, a street medic at the encampment, who’s responsibilities include: checking on people’s health, providing transportation to the emergency room, organizing meals, and responding to any needs residents may have while being a 24 hour crisis responder join Friday Buzz host, Holly Marley-Henschen, to talk more about the subject.
