Attorney Lester Pines– who represents several public sector unions– says Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission (WERC) officials Jim Scott and Commissioner Rodney Pasch are ignoring the law and doing Governor Scott Walker’s “bidding.”
Despite a ruling last week by Dane County Circuit Court Judge Juan Colas, the WERC is still enforcing parts of Walker’s collective bargaining law that Colas ruled unconstitutional last year. This includes a provision of Act 10 that requires public sector unions to hold costly re-certification elections each year. Pines calls the WERC’s reasoning for enforcing these measures “laughable.”
