Last week, the University Labor Council, a coalition of unions representing workers throughout UW-Madison, issued an emergency response to its planned reopening this fall. Its statement said the university will be putting employees’ lives at risk if it follows through with hosting some classes in person.
Yesterday, WORT producer Jonah Chester spoke with Alejandra Canales. She’s the co-president of the UW-Madison branch of the Graduate Worker Union at the university and a cosigner of the emergency response.
