The 2022 midterm elections are coming up, including the race for the Wisconsin U.S. Senate seat currently held by Ron Johnson. There are eight candidates with ballot access in the Democratic primary and two candidates (including the incumbent) with ballot access in the Republican primary, both of which will be held on Tuesday, August 9.
For today’s Meet the Candidates show, Wednesday host Carousel Bayrd continues our coverage of this race by speaking to Peter Peckarsky and Darrell Williams, two of the candidates running in the Democratic primary.
Peter Peckarsky is an intellectual property attorney. He previously served as consultant to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and the Director of Naval Intelligence. Some of his political priorities include election protection, enforcing anti-trust laws, and ending forever wars.
Darrell Williams is an educator and US Army veteran. For twenty-five years, he served in various roles including principal and Interim Superintendent of Schools for Milwaukee Public Schools. Some of his political priorities include funding for education, supporting law enforcement and veterans, and raising the minimum wage.
