On November 11, 1918 at 11:00am, the Allied powers signed a ceasefire agreement with Germany, bringing World War I to a close. November 11 is now observed as Armistice Day in Europe, Remembrance Day in Great Britain, and Veterans Day in the U.S.
For today’s episode, we focus on veterans, art, and healing spaces. Our guests are Yvette Pino, traveling art exhibits coordinator with the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, and architect Paul Alt, who has worked on the VA Healing Environment Design Guideline. They have a rich conversation that touches on PTSD and moral injury, the role of art and storytelling in healing, the history of memorial buildings, food and cooking, gardening and personal narrative, architecture, and healing environments.
