“In regards to immigration, the bottom line is if the federal government doesn’t step up and do something this is going to be an on-going problem for years to come.”- Bethany Ordaz on the 11 million undocumented workers in the United States
With 100,000 undocumented workers in Wisconsin alone and 11 million in the U.S., it’s painfully clear that our nation needs to have a serious discussion about immigration reform. The Voces de la Frontera is a national organization (based in Wisconsin) that is leading the fight for immigration reform in the United States. A group that The Nation Magazine claims is not only, “The most valuable grassroots group”, but it has also “become a model for activism on economic and social justice.” On Tuesday August 13th, Bethany Ordaz, Statewide Field Director for Voces de la Frontera, joined our host Carousel Bayrd on A Public Affair to discuss this struggle.
