Christine Neumann-Ortiz, Executive Director of Voces De La Frontera, joins Thursday’s 8 O’Clock Buzz to talk with host Tony Castañeda about how immigration issues played out in the midterm elections and how they relate to current policies at the southern U.S. border.
Immigration was a huge issue in election politics as conservatives tried to stoke fears about asylum seekers even though many of them are women and children trying to escape desperate situations. Also discussed was the lifting of Title 42, a Trump era policy which restricted immigration from select countries based on misleading public health concerns.
