In his State of the State address last month, Governor Tony Evers declared 2019 the year of clean drinking water. For today’s episode, Patty talks to Kriss Marion and organic farmer Scott Laeser of Clean Wisconsin to discuss water advocacy in Wisconsin.
“I looked at [the frog] and he looked at me, and we had a moment where I realized that it wasn’t enough for me to take care of my place—that if I wanted to protect these frogs, if I wanted to hear frogs singing, if I wanted to have frogs there for my grand-kids when they eventually were able to play on my farm, I needed to work upstream, downstream, upland, and all around with neighboring farmers, landowners, and villages in order to clean up the water. That was a real turning point for me.”
