In 1972, John Berger interrogated visual culture with his book and television show Ways of Seeing. On today’s show, musician, author, and podcast host Damon Krukowski explores the parallel question of how digital technology has changed our ways of hearing and altered our sense of time, space, intimacy and exchange.
Damon Krukowski is a musician with indie band Damon & Naomi and formerly Galaxie 500. He’s the writer and host of the six-part podcast Ways of Hearing from Radiotopia’s Showcase and the author of The New Analog: Listening and Reconnecting in a Digital World (New Press, 2017) and Ways of Hearing (MIT Press, 2019).
