City of Madison residents can recycle old or broken holiday lights and extension cords. The bulbs should be removed from strings of lights with large bulbs. Bulbs do not need to be removed from strings of mini lights. Drop off sites are located at 1501 West Badger Road and 4602 Sycamore Avenue, and are open Monday through Friday from 7:30am until 3pm. The Wheelchair Recycling Program offers low cost, refurbished mobility and medical equipment to people that may not have the resources to obtain them new. They have wheelchairs, walkers, bath items, grab bars and other assistive equipment for purchase. There are offices in Madison and the Greater-Milwaukee area. For more info, visit wrp.org.
