WORT is hiring an Assistant News Director. This position is responsible for the production of WORT Local News.
Our hour-long newscast covers local, regional, and state news. This position is general assignment: from local flooding to following bills at the Capitol. You’ll cover a wide range of issues while having the opportunity to develop local beats. You’ll also be responsible for assisting in the production of features, which include local history, cooking and agriculture, arts and culture, astronomy, weather, wildlife, environment, government updates, and more.
This position has a secondary responsibility to drive engagement by managing our social media channels. This position is responsible for scheduling and curating content on a frequent basis in a comprehensive and consistent way, as well as generating some content and tracking analytics.
