Milwaukee’s Community Health Engagement Director and Director of the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative, Darryl Davidson joins us to talk about the impact of COVID-19 on Milwaukee’s African American community, mental heath and his work to improve families and health through fatherhood engagement.
Darryl Davidson is the Community Engagement Director of the City of Milwaukee and also Director of the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative, launched and promoted by Mayor Tom Barrett to improve the life outcomes of families though responsible fatherhood and father focused interventions. He oversees city wide collaborative outreach activities focused on promoting racial equity and inclusion in education, business, and economics and guides the work of the Milwaukee Men’ Health Referral Network.
With over 20 years of public health experience, he leads best practice based social service delivery and research projects related to adult and teen male well-being, physical, behavioral and mental health; serves as a program developer and evaluator for a variety of men’s health programs; founded a one stop shop men’s health center and represents his organization in a local, state, and federal initiatives.
