The Outrider Foundation seeks to educate the public about nuclear war and global climate change using cutting edge digital media. Their latest project shows what might happen if a nuclear warhead were detonated at any particular location. Based on their simulation, a warhead detonated over the Wisconsin State Capitol could create a 63-mile heat blast that would kill almost 99,000 people, and injure another 128,000. Joining Eight O’Clock Buzz host, Brian Standing by phone are Tia Nelson, Outrider Foundation Managing Director for Climate and Tara Drozdenko, Outrider Foundation Managing Director for Nuclear Weapons Policy.
