The Good News: A big THANK YOU to all who pledged in our Fall Pledge drive that ended this past Sunday. We raised a little over $77,000 and we are grateful to every one of you who called the station or pledged online to support the amazing music and news programming that WORT brings you.
The Bad News: Our goal was $94,990. That means we missed our goal by $18,000, or 19%. While we have made adjustments when we’ve missed our goal by 5-8%, we’ve never had to adjust to a 19% deficit.
Here’s what we would like you to know:
We are continuing to take pledges. If you missed the chance to pledge or you would like to donate more money, you can call us at 608-256-2001 between 8 am and 6 pm, this Wednesday through Thursday, October 20th (weekdays only), or you can pledge online at wortfm.org anytime. We will continue to offer the online gifts that we offered during the pledge drive and we will have books, gift certificates, tickets for shows and other merchandise available for those who call in.
You can still get a shirt in whatever size you need!
We know many folks missed the chance get the new shirt, so we are EXTENDING the time for you to order the size you would like. Yes, all sizes, from small to 3XL, are available to be ordered either online or by phone. The premium level is $100. We are taking pledges for the new t-shirts starting Wednesday, October 5th through Thursday, October 20th. All payments for the shirts must be received by October 21st, at which time we will place the order. We will have them in stock no later than mid-November. Even if you got one for yourself, you might know someone who would appreciate one as a holiday gift.
We are hoping that these measures will bring us much closer to our goal, as well as gratifying those who wanted the new shirts but were unable to get them.
We have a lot of theories about why this pledge drive wasn’t as successful as past fall pledge drives, but if you didn’t pledge during the drive and are willing to take a few seconds and respond to this email with the reason that you didn’t pledge, we would be very grateful. Your friends congratulate you when you do something well, but your good friends tell you what you could have done better.
We’re relying on you, our good friend, to tell us what we could do better when it comes to our Fall Pledge Drive.
If you have any questions about any of the above, please contact me. We look forward to hearing from you!
