Since the election of President Trump, the American Civil Liberties Union has experienced a surge of membership and donations across the country. The ACLU reports that it has collected over $80 million since November. As it nears it’s 97th birthday, the civil rights advocate finds itself with plenty of work to do.
Here in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Chapter of the ACLU has seen its membership double since the election, and recently appointed a new executive director. Chris Ott was born in Milwaukee, served as executive director of Fair Wisconsin, and most recently worked as the communications director for the Massachusetts ACLU.
Earlier this month, Chris took over the reins at the Wisconsin ACLU from retiring director Chris Ahmuty. Chris Ott joins Brian Standing in the studio.
