MADISON (WORT) — President Barack Obama will address Mary Burke supporters at a campaign rally in Milwaukee. This is the second time Obama has hit the stump on behalf of Burke, a former executive at Trek Bicycle and this year’s Democratic candidate for governor. Gov. Scott Walker, the GOP incumbent, will also have a national political figure by his side this week. Fellow Republican governor Chris Christie of New Jersey will campaign with Walker on Friday. But the candidates aren’t just attracting high-profile surrogates. Big money campaign donors have also lined up behind Burke and Walker. The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign projects total spending will exceed $50 million for the 2014 gubernatorial election. WORT’s Dylan Brogan reports.
